Used as an antihypertensive and antianginal. Nilvadipine is prescribed for patients with both hypertension and chronic major cerebral artery occlusion. In hypertensive patients with high risk of atherosclerosis, nilvadipine may protect LDL cholesterol from in vivo oxidation.
