Cefepime is an extended-spectrum parenteral cephalosporin antibiotic active in vitro against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria. Cefepime dosing was 1-4 g/day (0.5-2.0 g twice daily) for adults; ceftazidime dosing was 1-6 g/day (0.5 g every 12 hours to 2.0 g every 8 hours).
